With the 14th pic in the 2017 NBA draft, the Miami Heat select Bam Adebayo. 🔥 or 💩? #theheatwillneverfall #miamiheat #sports #basketball #heat #miami #miamiheat #florida #giveaway #freeshoutouts #dope #swag #followme #like4like #lebron #curry #followtrain #lacrosse #wetheheat #dhth #hne #cowboyswin #cowboysfootball #dallascowboys #dallas #cowboys #football #beatthegiants #HEATison
SWIPE LEFT DRAFT DAY IS HERE!!!! #DHTH TIME: 7PM ET TV: NBA TV Today we welcome in a new member of the HEAT family With the 14th overall pick, the Miami HEAT select ___________ #DHTH As far as #DHTH's mock big board for the HEAT, here is where I think the organization categorizes the prospects 1. PF- Lauri Markennan 2. PF- Zach Collins 3. SG- Donovan Mitchell 4. PF- John Collins 5. PF- Harry Giles 6. SF- OG Anunoby 7. SG- Luke Kennard 8. PF- TJ Leaf 9. SF- Justin Jackson Of course I didn't bother putting in top 1-7ish players because they are very unlikely to fall. Also I didn't put into consideration the off chance Miami moves UP into the high lottery (doubtful)- of course Miami will gladly take a Dennis Smith Jr who for whatever reason has slipped in mock drafts Of the list above, most of these players will be available with a SLIM chance of numbers: 1, 2, & 3 on this list falling into Miami's selection ALSO Miami has $3.1M to spend before July 1. DO NOT BE SURPRISED if Miami uses this money to buy into the 2nd round as they have scouted and worked out many prospects coming into tonight's draft
Hmmm... 🤔 PG13 declares he will leave after this upcoming season Pacers have ZERO leverage with other teams now that this news is out in the open Most teams will only send scraps Indy's way. Should Miami make a play for PG13 and bank on their "culture" and championship DNA to keep him after next season? #DHTH Pat Riley has made a living off of disgruntled players near free agency: Alonzo Mourning, Shaq, Dragic... each of which have resigned with Miami If I'm Miami, I'd at the very least entertain the idea... PG13+Hayward is a real POSSIBILITY. Do I think it happens? No- but you'll never know unless you take the swing
Interesting tidbit- not sure if it's true but the off-season can be slow sometimes so here you go lol Hunching over with one's hands on one's knees is a staple of stoppages in play in basketball. Consider how many times Michael Jordan was seen in this pose. Usually observed around the foul line during free throws, it's a natural resting posture for tired ballers The Miami Heat, however, ban their players from doing so in both games and practices, according to an April article by HoopsHype's Alex Kennedy, who reports that offenders are fined $100 per infraction The Heat are well known to have one of the NBA's most rigid conditioning programs, something that includes before-and-after pictures and an insistence that players cut body fat. Dion Waiters has alluded to this, recounting how Pat Riley told him he would be remade into "world class shape." #DHTH Give that guy a fine
Johnson was asked if he felt the Heat would reciprocate the love he’s expressed for them in free agency (hometown discount) JJ: “I think the Heat already did plenty for me and even more than that... Just giving me the stage to work on and the opportunity to go out there and to become the best player I can be. They definitely gave me that stepping stone or eight stepping stones. For me, I feel like they did already more than what I had asked them or thought they would do. Anything after that, I’m truly grateful for the Miami Heat and I’m truly honored to be a part of it and hopefully it keeps on going.” #DHTH When asked Sunday if he would give the Heat a hometown discount in free agency, Johnson was non-committal in his answer but seemed to hint that it was a possibility. “I love this place so much and the opportunity they gave me, I couldn’t thank them enough,” Johnson said when asked about the possibility of signing with the Heat for less than market value. “Down the line, it’s hard in this phase of my career to try to find somewhere that you call home or you want it to be home and things like that. So you know the love I have for this team is up there. But it’s just something I got to let the agent and Pat discuss and try to figure out, and then just give my last say so at the end.”
8 hours ago, Paul George liked a "GO TO MIAMI" comment on his page 👀- probably nothing, but it's almost free agency time #DHTH The All-star's disdain for the Pacers front office + his passion for contending for a title have been well documented in recent months Series of events over the past few months: •PG13 expresses desire to play with Gordon Hayward •Report of Gordon Hayward interested in Miami leaked •PG13 likes "GO TO MIAMI" comment Could/ should Miami explore a trade for PG13? Show @ygtrece some Miami love #PG13toMia All credit to @joey.browske for showing me this! #paulgeorge #heatnation #miamiheat
BREAKING: "HEAT have emerged as frontrunners to sign Gordon Hayward" #DHTH Marc Stein: Volume is rising on the whispers that the team worrying Utah in Gordon Hayward’s free agency is Miami as much as Boston Hypothetically, if the Heat landed Hayward with a salary of $31 million next season, that would leave Miami with $7 million to nearly $9 million in space, baring any trades or cuts
“The Heat are eyeing several players to pair in the front court with Hassan Whiteside,” Ford writes in his mock draft Continued: "Zach Collins, John Collins and [Harry] Giles are the three strongest contenders at this point. Zach Collins has the unusual ability to both stretch the floor and protect the rim. He’s a good athlete, he’s aggressive and his analytics scores are through the roof. He is in the mix as high as No. 9 to the Mavs. I don’t think he slips past [No. 14 to the Heat].” #DHTH Via Palm Beach Post Interesting 🤔.....
Would Dion Waiters be receptive to taking a paycut with the Miami HEAT? #DHTH Waiters: "It depends... Yeah, I would, though. But, like I said, it depends, just being the right thing, at the right time. It's just got to be right. It's got to be equal." #DHTH Pat Riley earlier this season: "I hope that Dion and James and the rest of our free agents like it here enough that we’re going to be fair with them and they’ll be fair with us Continued: "I think he just realizes now what it takes to be a great player. In Cleveland, he had an opportunity to do certain things but I think he was hurt a couple of those years. And then in OKC, he was coming off the bench doing what they wanted him to do in short minutes. Here, he played 30-plus minutes a game and got starter's minutes in the rhythm of being a starter. You saw during those times that he could be efficient." #DHTH Waiters on Spo and Riley: "I just think the opportunity, just being able to have Pat Riley and Coach Spo, guys who believe in me and just push me to that next level" #DHTH When asked about the Warriors' dominance as a "Super Team," Waiters responded, "We're going to be good, too. We're going to be good, too." #DHTH Pressed by host Steve Shapiro in a lighthearted manner if that meant he already was back on the Heat in his mind, Waiters smiled and said, "That's the goal, but you never know how things go."
What if: The HEAT trade DOWN their 14th pick to either Portland, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Utah, or Orlando? #DHTH Currently: Portland has picks 15, 20, 26 Brooklyn has picks 22, 27, 57 Atlanta has picks 19, 31, 60 Utah has picks 24, 30, 42, 55 Orlando has picks 6, 25, 33, 35 If Miami can flip its 14th pick into 2 picks it may help to bolster both its PF position (much needed), and its backup center position (with Willie Reed most likely gone) #DHTH For example, if Miami can trade Brooklyn its 14th pick + McRoberts for their 22nd, 27th pick, Miami would be able to still get a good PF and Center in this draft AND shed McRoberts contract. Guys like (PF) TJ Leaf, (PF) Harry Giles, (PF/C) Isaiah Hartenstein, (PF) Jordan Bell, (PF) Caleb Swanigan, (PF) Johnathan Motley, (C) Anzejs Pasecniks, (C) Ike Anigbogu are all projected to go 20-35ish As is, Miami has worked out many prospects already that will be in the late first round/ early second round, including guys like Rabb, Motley, Bryant, Anigbogu, Leaf, etc Just a thought... don't get too caught up in numbers. Miami knows what kind of players they like, if nobody "WOWs" them at their 14th selection, I believe trading down is a very likely possibility
You're Pat Riley. What do you do? #DHTH The HEAT will have roughly $36M to spend this offseason This gives the HEAT a few different options on which to choose. Which route do you take? #DHTH Option 1: Retain Dion Waiters ($16M) and James Johnson ($12M) and use the other $6-8M to sign a third lower-tier player from a pool of free agents: Rudy Gay, Patrick Patterson, Omri Casspi, or Taj Gibson Option 2: Forget Waiters and Johnson go for Gordon Hayward ($30M) and retain Ellington ($6M) Option 3: Forget Waiters and Johnson and go for PF Paul Millsap ($28M) and use the other $8M for remaining free agents Option 4: Forget Waiters and Johnson and go for Blake Griffin ($28M) and use the other $8M for remaining free agents There is also a 5th option: Keep Waiters, Johnson, and Ellington for the total ($36M) For those that are unfamiliar with the salary cap situation, these are the most probable options for the HEAT. A lot of you guys are saying get Waiters, Blake, and Hayward when we don't habe the money for it. Choose wisely.
